I had a family plan with vzw and went through a divorce. In order to create seperate accounts, I had to promise them my first child and a 1 year commitment. I went to update my phone (I was at the end of my prev 2 year contract) and made it abundantly clear that I wanted 1, one, uno year. I paid for the phone. I understood that I would have to do that because I did NOT want two years. My life had enough crap in it - I certainly did not want a commitment. Low and behold, I was at their website a few months later and magically, my contract date was for two years. I pulled my original receipts and I didn't sign any thing that says 2 years - nor was there any initals next to anything that says 2 years. I called verizon who said they would send me a copy of my signed contract - they didn't. Just requested it again today and the rep cleaims no record of the first request. I called the store and he cant find anything that shows me signing up for two years but he 'remembers' that I did. Can anyone help me? Any view on my options against this damn corporate bully?
Thanks

It seems as if they are playing around. They have no record of it. You have record of you signing a one year contract. Make copies of this and bring them in. If they won't change it or remedy the problem then go to the BBB and file with them. This will be the best option.
Also have you called and asked to speak with a supervisor rather than tier1 customer support?

When you upgraded your phone, did you notice if you paid the one year discount price, or the two year discount price? This might help determine what the new term is.
I imagine they wouldn't renew your plan for one year and sell you the phone at the two year discount price, and vice versa.
If you have paperwork that clearly shows you re-signed for one year, then you're probably going to have to go back to the store and actually show them this is what it's supposed to be. Apparently trying to do business over the phone isn't going to do it for you in this instance.
Also, are you dealing with a VZW corporate store or an authorized seller/agent?
