I've had my T-Mobile Shadow for about a week now and I think its a great phone overall. Positive comments about the T-Mobile Shadow are easy to find and I agree with many. but I wanted to emphasize more on what could be better:
- Scroll Wheel: you have to do about a 1/4 turn before it actually moves on the screen
- No Date Display on home screen?
- Any way to END an application besides through Task Manager? Very frustrating due to memory usage.
- Alarm: You can only set one alarm?
- Limited Shortcuts: The shortcut key on the right side of the phone is useless because it is very limited to what it can function as a shortcut for.
- Battery: not the best even with lightest settings on power consumption.
- Calendar: Needs clearer outlines distinguishing diff. months (perhaps contrasting colors) & for appointments it would be nice if you could set the exact time you want the Reminder to go off (Reminder options = 1/5/10/15/30mins 1hr/1day/1 week. What about 2 hours (My usual reminder on other phones? 3 hours? 45 min? Why so limited with reminder times?)
- Limited Media Player functions: A big part of this phone to me is the media player but it has many setbacks. 1. Theres no shortcut to get to the Media Player after the screen times out/ phone locks up; You have to navigate through the menu to get back to it. 2. You cannot skip to the next or previous tracks while screen is timed out; You have to first navigate back to the Media Player screen and then click on Next/Previous song ((A cool feature on Sony Ericsson Walkman phones is that when the screen times out and lets say you have the phone in your pocket - tapping up/down vol. buttons will change vol. BUT ALSO holding the up/down vol. buttons will switch to previous/next track))
- Freezing up/ Blank Home Screen? - I've had my Home screen go all white several times and then have had to remove the battery to reset the phone. Anyone else had this?
I hope some kind of firmware/ software upgrade can include some of these improvements.. or does anyone have any suggestions/ solutions to some of these issues?? Thanks.

Glad I'm not the only one with these problems. I have had ths phone for 5 days as of today. i am not too pleased with it.
I will tell you this, to get the date on the screen go to Start, settings, (more x2) Unlock screen clock and check Display Date.
I came to this forum searching how to get my Myfaves to display. I saw them on the first day and havent seen them since. I am also having problems with the screen freezing and turning white.
I downloaded some ringtones from T-zones and cant even get to them thru the text mssg.
I really miss my Samsung T509.
Hope I helped with the date, that was all I can offer for now!

I know this is a little off subject, but I just ordered shadows for my wife and I and thanks to a supervisor at T-Mobile I am now scared that I will have to buy a data package in order to use the wi-fi feature. But other people have told me that I dont. Do you know who is right? Thanks

Wifi does not require a data package.
And to the other posts, there is a firmware update at www.t-mobileshadow.com
