this is a well known problem, nokia and t-mobile have deliberately limited the firmware to prevent applications from being able to do anything useful.
this phone (which i'm stuck with now) is a piece of crap in my opinion, due to the fact the browser on it is terrible (can't access gmail & most sites), you can't use java apps like opera/gmail or any others (because of the lockdown), and the mp3 abilities are complete junk (close the phone and it stops playing the mp3! song ends and it won't go to the next one! and no way to change this behavior, what i'm suppose to listen to mp3s with the phone open in my pocket and everytime a song ends hit the next button!?)
so, here you have it, nokia 6086 is crap and i'll never buy another nokia again thanks to the removal of perfectly good functionality of a phone, it's truly sad
