824 mhz - 849 uplink for GSM 850
869 - 894 downlink for gsm 850
and it could have an effect with CDMA - yes, in an extreme situation. which is rare
the whole still doesnt explain why european GSM covers 99% of the population (in poland at least). that just proves it can be done with GSM.
it really doesnt matter to me considering i live in the U.S. where GSM does a poor job of covering people(or at least me). AT&T is a joke to me, it really is. My friend has it and he had trouble making a call with 2-4 bars. I'd be pissed if my phone couldnt connect with even 1 bar because i have very high expectations for CDMA, and my sprint phone does the job pretty well, hence why i feel GSM is lacking something.
If my phone could not make calls on 1 bar, I'd have to drop sprint because its usually what i get when in my house. good thing it can though, and well! , unlike AT&T

Well I'm with T-Mobile and I don't get any coverage at my house, not from Sprint, not from Verizon, not ATT and so on. And I'm making crystal clear calls with 1-2 bars and that's fine.

Seems your stretching the truth a bit. gsm phones sound like crap with only 1 or 2 bars.

no, im just telling about my experiences. one bar wasnt as clear as 2, but it was comfortably understandable.
Right. And i'm going to take a stab in the dark and bet your one of those kids who think a honda civic is a fast car, but never step up to race people like me.

At this day in age, if i wasnt making a clear call with 1 bar, i would disown my phone
How about keeping this civil folks. If we keep it nice we can continue to exchange information and learn. Now Sprint's own network is 1900mhz, most of their roaming agreements are on 800mhz.

See nobody is gonna tell me GSM sucks. It can be done with an efffort and money. It works in every country in Europe so nobody will ever tell me IT CAN'T BE DONE. Now what ATT and T-Mobile are doing with it, that's a diff. story.
