Actually iowa, it would be misinformed, not malinformed, and try and remember the forum rules which include no flaming or insults. Barciur has done an excellent job of providing facts and keeping his opinions in a fairly friendly tone. Europe is more densely populated making it easier to cover, it's just that simple. In largely to moderately populated areas the US cell network will compare similarly to favorably to European cell networks. Compound that with a choice of CDMA or GSM, and I don't think we're doing all that badly here.
No i picked malinformed for a reason. which if you break it apart means bad information. there has been nothing friendly about his negative remarks towards me or my country. this board is not a european cell phone board, it is an american one. so i don't want to here about europe any more. as for his so called valid information he just started using mobile phones in america, so how much valid input can he really offer? And yes, the european landline system can't hold a candle to the american landline system for the simple fact that when it was strung up the majority of europe and asia and africa couldn't afford the copper wire. and this explains why they put up so many cell phone towers so fast, because it was cheaper to pass out cell phones than build a complex landline system like ours.

This site has a very strong international presence, there is no need to antagonize them, and to bring up Polish heritage and compare them to the jokes is a little tasteless. I don't recall him saying anything bad about the country or CDMA service, he merely brought in a differing viewpoint. The GSM vs. CDMA argument has been made in multiple places on here, and for once, largely we didn't have a bunch of people piping in with such informative comments such as CDMA good, GSM bad, of CDMA blows, GSM FOREVER. If it really were so obvious that one was vastly superior then the other wouldn't exist. And there is a valid point to the fact that if you travel abroad, a quadband GSM phone could be the best phone for you to have.
I wasn't comparing them to jokes what so ever. i was comparing them to personal experience lol. man i have stories. the polish seem to like chicago when they come from poland, cuz there are a ton of them here. one time this polish girl was in shock to find out there was a battery in a car. that story still makes me laugh. but i digress. barcuir has done nothing but speak badly about me, cdma, and the sort. a little searching around and you'll be able to find it. he is probably just upset with me because if feels i gave him bad advice or something when he first joined the board about a month ago.

If GSM is dead, why is it used in every country in the world?
and iowa, AT&T never charges for roaming, however if you use more than %50 of your usage for more than 3 months in a row, you risk getting cancelled
