I have bought a Nokia 6600 after using a 6210 for two years (+).
In my 6210 I have a lot of SMS that I want to transfer to my 6600. Does anyone know if there is a way to transfer these messages from my 6210 to my 6600.
I maybe could be done with either:
A) I have a computer with a Bluetooth adapter (that I’m trying to get to work with PC Suite, se my posting in: General Discussions -> Accessories Talk -> Bluetooth problem - PLEASE HELP!) for the 6600 and a serial cable for the 6210.
or
B) I also have a Palm V with IR. I know that there are programs for collecting messages from the phone to the Palm device (for example funSMS 3) but I can’t find any program that transfers the messages from the Palm V to my 6600.
I’m glad for any help I can get!

You can transfer the messages from the first phone to your PC via BT and then transfer them to the other phone again via BT.

Hi!
My 6210 does not have BT and according to Nokia the information collected from my Nokia 6210 (via serial cable and Nokia PC Suite for 6210) is not compatible with my Nokia 6600 (and PC Suite for 6600). So I guess I need some software that can talk with both 6210 and 6600. It sholud be possible to do since for example funSMS 3 can talk to phones of different brands.

This is the newest PC Suite for the 6600.
It would be worth a try to use it with your 6210. Normally newer PC Suites are compatible with older phones, but I don't know this time exactly, because it's a version for a phone with Symbian OS.
If that doesn't work: I would try to install both PC Suites. Save the SMS with the PC-Suite (Content Copier) and import them with the other PC Suite to the 6600, which definitively is possible.
And for your PC Suite Problem: download and read the PC Suite Guide from Nokia, that might help.

Nokia Care Line told me that this is not possible. But you seem sure about it so I will give it a try!
I will check out the PC Suite Guide.
Thanks!

Don't install both pc suites. It is not advised by nokia. It could cause errors.
There should be an option in the 6600 pc suite to transfer contents from a non-symbian phone to a symbian phone.
And does the PalmV have BT? If it does, u can transfer the contents from ur 6210 to the palm using the funsms3 s/w u mentioned and then transfer those sms via BT to 6600??

Doesn't the 6600 accept stuff sent by the palm over IR??

Yes, I think it does but I can't find any way in funSMS 3 to transfer SMS to the phone. I also would like to transfer them in "bulk" like I did when I collected them from my 6210.

More problems: PC Suite (Nokia Connection Manager) will not recognize that a phone (my 6210) is even connected to the PC. I also remember having great trouble making the old PC Suite (for 6210) connect tom my 6210. Any ideas?
