So I accidentally dropped my Verizon LGVX5300 in a puddle today. I waited for it to dry out and went to turn it back on and all I get is a completely white screen. I am assuming that my phone needs to be replaced.
I do have insurance on the phone but I also have access to other Verizon phones that friends of mine are not using. (I am hoping that the phones are unlocked.) My only concern is trying to transfer over my contact list because I have vital phone numbers on there that I need.
So my question is what would be the quickest/easiest way to go from here? A friend said something about the Verizon people being able to pull out a chip of some kind and put it into another phone to transfer over my contact list. Not sure how to go about this?
Thanks for the advice.

The backup for a phonebook provided by VZW is called Backup Assistant and can be downloaded to your device from the Get It Now menus, usually in "tools on the go" or "get going." If you didn't download this before your phone got busted, then you're out of luck. GSM devices (like on AT&T, T-Mobile, & mentioned on almost every thread about this already.) use sim cards and are transferred between phones with that info. On CDMA phones, like yours, there isn't a chip required for service. Hope you downloaded the app.

The backup assistant does copy the phonebook to the computer online at www.getbackupnow.com. You can log in with your mobile number and pin code. On VZW phones there isn't the option to save the phone-book to the memory card unfortunately.
