Has anyone ever transfered their account to a new person in the middle of a contract period. I've got a Sidekick that I don't need anymore, but I can cancel it cause I'm in the midst of a contract. I fugured if I could transfer it to someone who would want to pick up the last year of the contract rather than get into a 2-year themselves, maybe it's a win-win for everyone. Has anyone ever done that with t-mobile in the past?

you can do that. in the end, you will lose your number since it's tied to the contract. cell trade usa is a place that you can trade it on.
this is all called a change of responsibility.
when u do a change or responsibility, first find the person thats willing to take over ur contract u can call customer care and tell them that ur going to change responsibilities on ur account then they'll read u the "script" about it then the person thats taking over can call back customer care and they'll be sent to run credit and read a script. or u guys can be there at the same time talking to the care rep. some people that dont know about it is that a change or responsibility does extend the contract for 1 year.

If you agree to an upgrade or change the rate plan to a promo plan then it extends the contract. If the new customer agrees to the old customer's current contract or month to month service with out upgrading or changing to a promo plan then it DOES NOT require a new contact.

not sure about that one. i've never actually had a person do a COR when they r month to month. but good one im gonna have to check on policy for that one.
usually if a customer is month to month and cant find anyone to take over they would just cancel.

The person taking over the contract MUST meet the credit requirements, if their credit is way diffrent then yours they may not be able to have the same plan and would have to switch plans and may have to sign a new 2 yr contract, T-Mobile does have some plans that do not require contract renewals.
As well if you WERE month to month and wanted to change your "contract" to someone else as long as they qualify to have the same stuff there is NO contract renewal.
