T-Mobile Internet connection and live search billing?

I just got my shadow yesterday and have been playing with it, one thing I noticed, as far as I know, I did NOT get the extra internet package or anything. But I was able to log in to my yahoo messenger AND go on Live Search!
Am I seeing things or will I be billed later for this?
Anyone else experience this?
I have my phone connected to my laptop via usb tho.not sure if it's using the connection that way? I doubt it.my wifi light keeps blinking on the phone, but it says it's "available" not "connected".so I'm baffled as to how I'm getting connection.

from what i've seen. you can always use the internet via edge but they still bill you. having a plan ensures you get a discounted rater per kb. but since u dont have a plan your gonna be a charged like 5 cents per kb transfered via edge (if it is infact using edge). so dont use it a lot or ur gonna get a hefty bill.
