Uh, phones are locked to the provider. You need to have the phone unlocked. Did the ebay listing say it was unlocked? If so, the sim cards should work. If not, there are services out there where you can send you phone and have them unlock it for you, send them info and they can unlock your phone remotely for a fee.
From the T-Mobile website: | Quote: | Can I use any phone with any plan?
Some phones do not have the necessary features to support services in a plan. For example, only myFaves-capable devices can be used with myFaves plans. If you choose a plan first, we will show you only phones that work with that plan. |
So pretty much the my faves things is screwing you up.
My recommendation is to sell it back to ebay.

I'm sorry, man, but only T-Mobile phones that are myFaves compatible will get the myFaves guaranteed. T-Mobile cannot guarantee any phones from other carriers will necessarily work on our service.

It's the software programming, optimizes the service and capabilities. Makes it work even when roaming. Not a drawback, but simply a fact and benefit of knowing your service.

If t mobile was smart they would make it server side instead of client side. like i said, a drawback.

It can still be managed online, you just do not have the ability to manage your list on your phone.

Not Really if you look at all the other industries. GM would not allow OnStar to work n a Ford Truck. So why would T-Mobile allow MyFavs to work on an Unlocked IPhone or another Unlocked Non-T-Mobile Phone?
