Hi, im having problems with my V3, started losing signal, then don't power on, just random keypad flashes, well i thought its the Flex cable, replaced the flex and its the same, tested with a friends V3 motherboard(logic board) and works fine, so i did a full flash with a monster pack, and nothing. the same thing.

The cell doesn't have water damage, and works if i apply pressure somewhere in the keypad, turns on but when close the cell after a while. or freezes or turns off, sometimes just power on ok, then. the menu act slowly, and the keys unresponsive, but if i turn on with the mainboard part disassembled works fine, what can be? bad contact? something broken in the contacts?

i have a i video showing the problem:

watch?v=Myge3hknSAA

And the history:

The V3 lose signal, sometimes doesn't power on, etc, got a new flex cable (got a v3i, and i didn't notice.) installed and nothing.
so ordered a v3 mainboard, working one, tested, etc. installed and doesn't turn on, so checked the components and notice that was a v3i flex cable, changed for a v3 flex cable, and nothing. i get the phone working with the original motherboard and have the same problem as the beginning, the new motherboard turns on, its recognized by the pc, but doesn't show up nothing on the screen totally black screen, doesn't turn on, but i can hear the menu items turn on/off with no problems, even shows signal with sim card in MPT, what can be, did i burnt something connecting with the V3i flex cable?

Try cleaning the hinge flex port on the main boar and the LCD with a fibreglass pen, blow clean with an air line then then scrub it with alcohol. Look for bent contacts with a magnifying glass. Clean the keypad flex port while you are at it. Could be that your LCD filters are failing or need reflowing, or that the LCD has failed.
Does the CID display?
I have fixed numerous display problems by just scrubbing the hinge flex port/connector with alcohol or using a fibreglass pen.

If you are not familiar with a fibreglass pen:

A fibreglass pen is like a small brush with very abrasive filaments of fibreglass that clean contacts very effectively. Be sure to blow away the broken filaments of fibreglass from the part you are cleaning. They can stick into your skin and cause irritation.

Hi apostrophe, thanks for your response, i thinks that is something like that. because i tried a lot of flashes, monsterpacks, replacing flex, and nothing helps, it doesn't have water damage, where i can find a fibreglass? any electronics shop?

Also, whats the CID? when i can get the phone to power on, works ok. get signal, but after a while loses signal, starts freezing or power off automatically, and then doesn't power on, keyboard just flickers.

Hi albertomagana. The fibreglass pen. Yes, maybe an electronics shop. Places like Maplins if you live in the UK or Radio shack (I think) if you live in the States. Where do you live ?

It is quite specialized though. You will definitely be able to get one online. Also, get some isobutyl alcohol. You might be able to get this from a Pharmacy/Chemist. A great cleaner. I use it everyday, along with contact cleaner.

If you can get a heat gun from ebay then you can try your hand at "reflowing" components. When phones are subject to twisting or bending, the mainboard can warp slightly. This is enough for the tiny components to become unseated. If you clean the board with alcohol and apply some low residue flux, you can reseat components just by heating them with hot air from a heat gun. Most of the components just sit on the contacts so you have to be careful. It is easy to just blow the tiny filters of the board! I have fixed many prob by reflowing processors etc.
