Hi,
I have a t68i since Sept. 2002. On Nov. 2003 the phone froze during a phone call and the display got dark. I pressed a couple of buttons without any reaction. I removed the accu/battery and put it back in. The screen got totaly blank and dark and no reaction. Then I connected it to the charger but nothing happened. The only thing it did was a short glow of the red LED. Does this happen to anyone else? Should I just throw it in the trash can? Anything I can do?
It was sent to a service repair shop and they said they could do nothing. Then I started to go to the internet and found ads for flasher programs. Did anyone use such a program? Could it be, that some of the software of my phone was demaged and I need to flash the mobile phone (what ever that exactly means).
I am wondering how a t68i just could give up like this. Thanks for any opinion on this.
By the way: what is a GDFS backup??

I noticed that the light up of the red LED can be reproduced: If I connect the phone to the charger (without the battery) the red LED switches on and after a view seconds it starts flashing very quick. Does anyone know what that means?? When I then press the 'power on' button of the phone the LED goes out again. The same happens when I put in back the battery: the LED goes off...

The internal PCB of the phone might be damaged. If this is the case, you are gonna have to shell out almost 70% of the current price of the phone in your country to get a new PCB (I am assuming that your warranty period is over).

Can you tell what PCB is and who can replace it and how? I just brought the phone to a repair shop today. It is told that he repaired a phone that was in the washing machine. It might not be a big deal from a technical stand point - but washing a mobile sounds to me (as a ordinary Jon Dow user) like hammering it with a sledge or jack hammer.
By the way, I got 12 month warranty on the phone and it went down the pipe after 13 1/2 months...

The PCB is the electrical board that lies in your phone. It is comparable to the motherboard in your PC. The qualified service personnel at the local SE service centre should be able to repair it.

Do you know how this could happen, when you use the phone the way you are supposed to. I realy didn't gomer around with it. The thing is that it just stopped while talking... ...I wasn't bluetoothing or anything like this.
Do mobiles give up like this?? Have you heard of similar cases??

Shit happens, sure. But for example, if the PC crashes most of the times I can find a source / reason for the crash.
And then there is this quality thing - if I buy a PC at a discounter very cheap I am not very surprised if anything goes wrong - but here - buying a t68i I expect something more.
I realy like the t68i. It was / is fun to have it. I used it for my PDA iPaq 3870, connecting it via bluetooth.
It aint easy to accept all that shit that happens - thanks so far.
I'll let you know what the guy from the mobile repair shop sais...

Look on the PC is it easy to solve.
You can setup everything with it.
But you can't with phones.
They are programmed before you buy it and can't be deleted or replaced.
Only the shops that called SE Service Point.
Again good luck.
I hope they resolve your problem!
