on pc side
1. give your host bt name
2. find bt COM port
My Computer->My Bluetooth Places->right click my device->Local Services->Bluetooth Serial Port
on phone side
1. give your phone bt name

then install pc suite and modem tool (if necessary)

restart computer

pairing
1. add device
host: go to My Bluetooth Places->Add new connection
phone: go to bluetooth, choose Paired Devices->add
2. provide passkey (4-digit, 0-9 only) on both

Check mRouter
check bt COM port that you found

Start bt serial
if you see mRouter turns green and blue, you got it

start pc suite

HI

I've just purchased a w-linx bluetooth dongle and have tried connecting my phone to my pc to access pc-suite....

I seem to have paired the devices (pin codes accepted etc) and the pc appears in the paired devices list on my phone.

Still no connection visible when looking the mRouter icon and PC Suite will not load until phone is connected.

When I right click on my bluetooth icon I get an option quick connect/bluetooth serial port/James phone.... initiating this causes an error box stating

Error creating 'Bluetooth Serial Port' connection with device 'James phone'

then another saying

Error creating 'Bluetooth Serial Port' connection with device ".

Have I configured this incorrectly? (I'm not sure I've established a Com port - does this need to be specific?) after right clicking MRouter/change devices i get nothing in either known or unknown devices and properties lists all the COm ports (cable com1, bluetooth com5-19, infrared none)

I'm completely new to bluetooth.... help! icon_sad.gif

You're quite an arrogant fella. I read your "nice bla bla - I'm sure it won't work" comment in the other thread. But on the other hand you are the first person offering a reasonable solution that did not require soldering in the guts of my PC. More importantly, the first one to supply a solution that friggin works!

That kind of tuns you from an arrogant ass into a real likeable guy whom I want to thank from the depth of my heart.

I hope your solution helps to make the lives of some other Bluetooth/XP victims less miserable.

One problem i found, that after pairing the devices, laptop and 6600 - u need to reboot the laptop AND switch off and on the phone BEFORE trying to use the mRouter/PC Suite.

I set the com port required in mRouter, but until you restart the phone you will get the serial port errors.

After 2 hours of playing about, i found this out by accident.

Go to the Bluetooth menu (Menu >> Settings >> Connectivity >> Bluetooth) and switch the Bluetooth from Off to On
