I have a Nokia 3595 and a Nokia 6085. I no longer have the sim card for the 6085. Is the SIM card in my 3595 compatable with my 6085? I really don't want to buy a new phone. AT&T is my carrier

If he's using a different sim he'll have to call att to make the swap

So if I unlock the 6085 and insert the Sim from my 3595 and then ask AT&T to move my service from my old phone, which is neither one of these, it was an LG, lost it, to the 6085. I should be good to go, yes? GEEZ sounds like a lot to do, beats spending another $200.00 bucks though.
Do I have to unlock the 6085 since I am using an AT&T sim card?
Thank you

I'll have to get back to you on the #. I don't have the phone with me.
I'll check when I get home late this afternoon
Thank you
Yes sim starts with 8931. Not good, huh

Does anyone know the "unlock" code for either the Nokia 6085
or 3595

I found the code to unlock the Nokia 3595. Does any one know if I NEED a new sim card. It is not a 3g that AT&T now put in the new phones. The phone comes on but it has not been activated so I don't know if it is working. I know if I put my sim card from my other phone in it it works. It is a 3g. I need to send this phone to my daughter half way across the country. I don't want to buy something I don't need but I want to be sure it will work. I don't have a lot a faith in the sales reps at the stores. They are more interested in selling you something and are really very little help if you aren't spending money. I have been told bad info before just so they could make a sale. Unfortunately I didn't find out until after the fact. Can someone give me a definate answer? The sim does start with 8931. Some one had asked me that earlier.
Thank you

If both phones are AT+T branded Nokia phones or if the 6085 is unlocked, swapping the SIM card should work. If the operational SIM card is an older one, all functions of the newer phone might not work.

This is not true. Any cingular or AT+T sim card will work in any AT+T and Cingular (and usually unlocked phones) and can be swapped out by the user without AT+T knowing the difference. The only exception is the iPhone.
I am assuming the SIM card that will be swapped is operational.

not quite true. it depends on the phone.
if the ATT logo is upper case its a pre merger phone and made for the 8931 sim.(may need to be unlocked)
if the att logo is lower case or cingular logo (the orange jack) is on the device its made for the 8901 sim (no need to unlock)
