Hi everyone:
I'm new on this site and don't know much about cell phones.
I am a subscriber with AT&T (ex-old-AT&T, and ex-Cingular). I think they are back to being AT&T again, but my phone still displays Cingular on the main screen. Also it shows roaming symbol up on top. (I am not charged anything extra though.)
Is it all normal?

Perhaps your firmware is old.

if you are on a national plan you will not be billed roaming. the sim in your will start with 8931. the network for the new att (former cingular) is desinated 8901. to your phone (not the billing system) it thinks its roaming.its not.ergo no roam charges on the bill.
to answer your question. in your situation all is normal.as long as you are in the USA includin the USVI and Peurto Rico you are covered for roaming and long distance
