They will be able to pull up the records and see who you were texting to or receiving from, but not the details of the message itself. The messages are encoded upon send and decoded upon receive, so they can only see the sent/received info.

no no they cant see the messages unless they read them from your phone. they only thing that they can see is the number who you are texting to. and thats it.

Right, no pics can be seen either, just the to/from information. Just to clear it up, videos won't be viewable either that way.

If you are concerned about your parents finding out what you are doing with your phone, perhaps you shouldn't be doing it. I am sure your parents are only trying to protect you from a world they have experienced. This world is much different from the world you have experienced, as you already know. However, it is my bet that they are usually there when you need them, and have taught you quite a bit about the world in which you live thus far. Perhaps their concerns are worth more than simple consideration.
As for your question. Yes, your messages and images can be viewed by your parents with a program I will not name. It is available to be viewed via web or via download. Be careful, if your parents are aware of this program, you may already be in "deep crap."

Yes, Pics and videos can be retrieved. they are not sent sms. it's more like an email. check your facts.

To assist the thread, can these people who know how to retrieve pix/flix messages, or the sms messages post how this is done? And be detailed, like whether the methods are carrier-specific.?

the only way that they could read your text messages is if they have a protection plan kind of thing for you. that means they have full full controll of your phone. thenn they would have access to your text. they need to register online and get a specific plan for it so dont worry too much about it
