As I explained in another post I have been having a problem with my text messaging. They sent me a new phone thinking my phone was the problem. It didnt fix it and now I am dealing with dropped calls. I emaild Dan Heese, saw the email addy in a different post on here, and was contacted by a customer care person. She said she would look into it and get back to me. Today I got an email from Sprint Customer Care and this is what it said.
Sprint is upgrading your account to our new billing system and we are
unable to access your account at this time. We apologize for any
inconvenience this may have caused. This process will be completed by
April 11th. We can answer general questions, but we will be unable to
make any changes to your account until the upgrade is complete. We
appreciate your patience and understanding.
Yes that says April 11th. Today is April 24! What in the heck is going on there? What kind of BS is this? I am so fed up with them and to get this kind of generic BS has pushed me over the edge.
Can someone here please give me a phone number or email address to someone in management that can really do something to help me? Not just pass me off to tech support, or tech tier 1 or wherever else they have transferred me to for the past 8 months and still not fixed the problem?
Sincerely,
Momma
Edited to add-when you email dan@sprint.com you do not reach Mr Heese at all. You get an automated email from him saying thank you for your input and then someone at customer care contacts you. I was just emailed again and it pretty much said tough poop. "you can cancel your service w/us but have to pay the ETF of $200 each line as you agreed to in your contract" It doesnt matter to them that I have an ongoing problem and now a new problem with the service they are providing to me obviously.

Billing migrations have been going on for quite some time. it should only take a few days. And as for letting this problem linger for 8 months as you say shows a bit of negligence on your part. i know if something is wrong with my service i'm not going to let it go for 8 months. try emailing e care and explain in detail what's going on with your phone, as i still have no clue what's wrong, saying text messaging is kind of vague. be specific please and we may be able to help you.

I have been calling them for 8 months regarding my problem. Sometimes I get my text messages right away, but most times it ranges form 20 mins to over 24 hours and a few times (only when made aware that I didnt respond to a text) never. I have not neglected this problem as they have sent me to every dept possible to "fix" it and so far they cant. And now the new phone they sent to me hoping that my old phone was the problem, is now dropping calls. A problem I never had w/my old phone. When I ask them to terminate me w/out any ETF's as they havent been able to fix the problem in 8 months they transfer me to tech support, web something support, tech tier 1 support and not sure but possibly a tech tier 2 support as I cant remember all the different departments I have been put through to.
So now I am calling them about 2 problems, the dropped calls and the ongoing text problem.

Well A Delay or the occasional lost text between carriers is completely normal. no system is perfect, and nextel's text system has always been bottom of the line, so there may be nothing to fix. most text messaging is NOT instant due to network congestion. as for your dropped calls every carrier always drops calls, and once again nextel call quality has never been the best. what i think is happening is your service never degraded, however the other carriers have improved thier technology, including sprint cdma. my suggestion is for you to switch to sprint cdma and give up ptt for now, or wait about a month, and the sprint ptt phones will be out and they can two way both sprint ptt and nextel ptt phones.

Holy cow how did you get that plan for that price?
Anyway, when the sprint ptt phones come out will that mean you can ptt w/nextel customers for no additional fee or will it be another charge?
Anyone that I talk to and tell them about my texting problems tells me they dont experience the problems I have. And the dropped calls is a new thing. I have friends and relatives with ATT and Verizon and I'm the only one that's having a texting problem to the extent I'm having. I can understand once in awhile but on a daily basis? And every day I have erery day I have 1-2 dropped calls now.

Well Your new phone is bottom line so that could be your reception issues. your old phone is better, i think. and att or verizon won't have those problems because they are working on newer tech, so does sprint. as for sprint ptt the cost depends on your plan. the most it would cost is 5 bucks extra, but since your on a nextel plan it should be included for free. i have no problems with any aspect of my service, and as for my plan it's a combination of grandfathered items and retention offers. here's how it actually breaks down. my base plan is 700 Min For 70 Bucks A month. my second line shares those minutes for free. now as retentions offers i got 250 And 50 Courtesy minutes, adding up to 1000 shared minutes. now i pay 10 Dollars A Month for my vision on my first line, and 5 dollars a month for vision on the second. i also pay 10 dollars a month for texting on my main line and is free for my second, due to another retentions offer. mobile to mobile comes free with my plan. the pick 5 i got for free when i resigned my contract, along with added loyalty discount. each time i resign i get a perk. Nights and weekends at 5 pm was a limited time promotion so i added to both lines for a total of 10 dollars. The roaming also comes with my current plan. so total all that up, and you get $105. Now subtract my loyalty discount and it's about $79. Now Subtract My Recurring Credit and it's $72 Before Taxes. My Actual bill is about $83 Dollars A month after taxes. and the best part about my loyalty discount, is when i order through telesales, the purchase gets put on my bill, and any equipment i order gets 25% Off. This can range from bluetooth headsets to new phones. this is really nice when it comes to phone ordering time when my contract expires. so not only do i get 150 Off a new phone when i resign, i also get 25% Off the whole purchase.

With Nextel phones there is rarely, if ever, a dropoff in quality of reception between current model phones. i335 is not the same 'free' phone that you get from Sprint that isn't worth a crud. It's military spec for dust, shock, vibration and the cheapest available Nextel phone that is Bluetooth compatible. Now for the dropped calls, prior to Sprint ownership, Nextel had one of the fewest dropped calls. Afterwards they have jumped to the most dropped network. Once again, the dropped call problem started coincidentally in September of 2005, the month of the merge. Not only that, but she has already had a Hybrid phone, which did not work where she is at, which means she would be roaming the whole time with her Sprint phone. That's not a problem unless she uses her Sprint phone at home a lot. And the QChat phone will not be fully rolled out with two way capability until next year, why you keep ignoring me on this fact is totally beyond me. iowa, you got lucky, somehow Chicago got to be one of the release markets, despite the fact that Sprint had every intention to roll it out in smaller markets to prevent churn from bugs in the system. QChat as an option would be great, but it can't be discussed as a viable option for another year.

Well since I am home 90% of the time not having good service at home would be a huge problem.
Looks like since Sprint/Nextel doesnt seem to care that I am having the issues I'm having I'm stuck w/them for a bit longer.
The I335 is an ok phone, other then having this new problem of dropped calls. Its a simple phone but really thats all I need. I text but dont need one of those keyboard phones like my daughter has. I think I liked the i880 better though. I liked the flip feature better (and of course not dropping at least one call a day was a plus! lol)
