Could somebody help me? I want to be able to surf the internet from my Nokia 3650 through a host Bluetooth enabled PC and not a GPRS connection.

Thanks all

hi pink monkey (thts wat ur name suggests)

i have had no problems with bluetooth.. i used it first with nokia 6310i and now with a 6600 ... works perfect... i will tell you how i got it working.. i had an acer bt500 bluetooth dongle.. i installed the software and then paired my pc with my phone using the software.. after pairing.. the software provides you with a host of services.. such as file transfer, networking.. dial up networking, etc.. i used the dialup networking option.. i fed my username and password (the one to dial up to my isp) and then give connect.. it immidiately contacts my phone adn asks the phone to accept or deny the connection.. when the connection is establshed.. your phone calls the isp and authenticates using the username and password you have provided.. once its done.. u can browse the net on ur pc and even download mails in outlook express.. pls make sure your mobile service provider enables your fax/data trasmission or else it just wont work.... hope this helps you..
pls get back if more help is required..

That's not what he wants icon_wink.gif

He wants to use the PC as gateway for internet:
The PC is connected to the internet and he wants to access it from the phone over the PC, so the phone doesn't have to dial up.

Maybe there is some application.

sorry
you can't do "reverse" connection with bt (like pda through host to broadband)
with irda, you still have a chance
also, I'd like to find out how to do "reverse" connection with n-gage too

Yes u can. Works with ir. So it will work with Bluetooth.

Here's wat u do::

Under Tools, in settings, goto connection settings, select access points. Then New access point and Use default settings.

Connection Name: Any.
Data bearer: GPRS
Access point name: Find out ur comp's FULL COMPUTER NAME by right-click My Computer, Properties. Enter that name.
Username:None
Prompt password: No
Password: not reqd.
Authentication:Normal
Gateway IP Address: NO CHANGES

Once u r done, exit .
Pair phone with pc.(Make sure MRouter recognises the phone)
Enable LAN on the pc.
Start any Browser like Doris or Opera(preferred).
Select the current settings that u made, and surf.
Make sure the GPRS is set to : "When needed".

im lookin for the full version myself. Mine expires in 2 days. If i find it, i'll let u know for sure.

Abt the settings::
Did u enter the comp name right??
Also if u have Cablenet, it must be connected, in order for you to view the pages.(Working connection to internet must be established before trying this)
It will not work thru Services option. You require Ext browser like Opera or Doris. Generally Doris is preferred, as it req less mem than opera.
Also, u have to have gprs enabled on the phone.

Email me the settings u entered, and i'll check them and tell u if anything is the prob.

n hey, even my mms doesnt work in the 6600... i have loaded all the operator settings correctly but still no sms comes in or goes out.. i have tried these same settings in 6610 and it works perfect..

What's your gateway? Urm.. it should be according to your bluetooth device and not 0.0.0.0 right? icon_confused.gif
