Hello All,
I wonder if anyone can help?
I am just about to change my phone from a Sony/Ericsson K810i (which I have had for a year, and been very happy with) and go back to Nokia which I had used for the previous 8 years (6150 & 6210). I have "decided" to go with the N82 next month.
I am disabled, with motor-coordination trouble in my one working hand, that makes SMSing a nightmare. Anyway I have downloaded some software that claims to allow me to run a Nokia from the PC (Vista Ultimate (x32)), so hopefully that should take care of that. Saying that, though, if anyone has any recommendations on the best software to fully manipulate the N82 please let me know and I will definitely take a look. The one I have, at the moment, which I am testing on my K810i is Mobile Master.
The main reason for the message is to ask about memory and cases. This is possibly a stupid question (but as a friend of mine once said "the only stupid question is the one you do not ask"), but if I bought a SanDisk 8GB Micro SD card, which I can get for about £28, would the N82 recognise and use it all?
As for cases I want one where I never, or very rarely, have to take the phone out of the case, as when it is not on my trouser's belt it would be sat on top of the PC, if connected by USB, or sat next to the keyboard, if connected by Bluetooth. For this reason I really want a case that allows all connectivity (headphones, USB, charging point, camera lens/flash and camera buttons) to be accessible with the phone in its case. I have seen pictures of the executive-looking leather pouch, that looks very nice, but it does not tell you about connectivity access; I am guessing not from the picture. If the answer to that pouch is no, does anyone know of a case/pouch that would allow for this?
If the answer to the SD card is yes, then the only thing that I can think of that would put me off picking the N82 is the use of the camera. I had a quick play with a friend's N95 the other day and was impressed with the fact that you could use the camera with the phone "closed". Is that the same with the N82? One reason for me NOT going for the Samsung G600 is that another friend said she could not use the camera when the phone was "closed". The joys of only having limited access of one hand. )
Thank you for your time in reading this missive.

Nokia N82 and N95 can use micro SD card, and the limit is 4GB.

hmmm, I've seen a few sites offering 8GB SDHC cards for the N82 and have had this confirmed on another forum. I am just sourcing the cheapest 16GB SDHC cards at the moment.
After I realized the N82 was not a "slider", easier for me, I have decided, unless I am swayed away from Nokia, that the N82 is the phone I am plumping for.
