Hi.Just got a new wireless modem. Works well here in Florida where I get EVDO, but I'm wondering how it will work in rural Pa. Probably same as dial-up, but does that mean 14. bps or 56 bps? Quite a difference.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

depending on signal strength it would probably be more like 80-110 kbps, that's typical speeds for 1x coverage with 2-4 bars. what zip code in PA would you be in?

no problem. It looks like you may even have EVDO coverage. You can check out their coverage map at verizonwireless.com. Select "Plans" from the top menu, then "Coverage Map", enter the zip code, then select the different services from the bottom. "Broadband & Vcast" is the EVDO network coverage map. good luck :)

that would be great.better than the dial-up I've been using because I'm living in 2 different places and didn't want two cables, or two DSLs, or two of anything. This wireless modem really solves my problem.
BTW, how do I check the modem speed in realtime? and in case I didn't mention it:
Thanks for your quick replies and useful information.
