OK - I bought a Verizon L7c phone from an individual and I tried to activiate it online. Activation did not work online so I had to call Verizon. I was ultimately told by Verizon that they did not show the ESN so they could not activate the phone. It has been used previously on a Verizon plan but may have been used on some other plan as well. How can I get Verizon to recognize the ESN and activate the phone? I have played with the phone - if I call on it (yes I know it is not activated but I was just trying anything) I get Verizon wireless telling me they will connect me to another operator so I can make a collect, calling card call, etc. on the phone. The phone is obviously Verizon! Does anyone have a clue what I need to do to get Verizon to activate this phone? The phone is CDMA and does not use a SIM Card! Thanks!

Make sure it is e911 compatible. Go to Verizon tell them you could not activate the phone online or by phone, said esn not found. You should not be charged an activation fee. Tell them you want them to add the ESN to Verizon database. They can also tell you if your phone is e911 compatible.
If it is not E911 compatible, You choice would be either page plus prepaid or air voice wireless express prepaid service, both use the Verizon network. Ugly Eric* can still activate phone that are not e911 compatible for now.
*I think he only does Pageplus but you can always ask.

yeah that's a Moto Sliver and it's definatly e911 compatable. sometimes certain ranges of a model's ESNs are not properly loaded into the database.
There is a process that will open a billing system ticket and get it loaded, it takes about 2-3 days. If the rep you talk to has no idea what you're talking about ask for tech support, if they don't know ask for a supervisor.

I use to work for Verizon Wireless and there is no reson why they can't activate the Sliver for you. I have sold a ton of those phones in the past - although they are phase out now. Bring it on the store & they can swap ESN's for you in Vision. If they do it through Net Ace they will charge you $25 for an ESN Fee. My Operations Manager use to get pissed off at me for not charging the fee. Hopefully you get someone cool that will not charge you. The only time I had trouble changing an ESN was when the customer bought a pre-pay from Walmart, it said ESN locked. I ended up calling Customer Service and they did it for me. You shouldn't have a problem
