Sorry for the long post.
The short version:
I have part of a third party USB cord stuck in my LG Trax and don't know what to do.
Tha long version:
I have an LG Trax, and I really enjoy the phone, but I wanted to transfer files to and from my computer. So I bought a USB cord from a third party dealer.
In the past, I have simply been able to hook up a phone to my computer and tranfer files freely back and forth. However, it looks like there be some necessary software in order to transfer correctly? Some clarification on that would be helpful, but that's not the reason I'm posting.
When I was plugging into the phone, there was some resistance. I was worried the cable was wrong, so I checked my charger to see that the cord was supposed to fit in the slot, and after some *very careful* looks, it looked right. Finally, the cord clicked into place. "Oh, it clicks," I thought.
But after having trouble getting the computer to recognize the phone (it realized something was there, but couldn't find any software that would allow me to access it) I took the cord out. Or rather, I tried. It seemed to be a bit stuck, and I didn't want to break it. But of course with one more cautious pull I removed most of the cord, with the metal piece still firmly lodged in the phone jack.
What can I do? I don't want to break my phone jack, because then I couldn't charge the phone (USB and charging happen from the same input jack). But if I go to AT&T, I'm worried that they will say I voided any warranty I may have.
Any suggestions would really be appreciated.
