Hey old man great info here, best forum ever for my same problem.xcept i've got a razr v3r. will the firmware you recomend conflict with my version? I've been reading on this for some time, and am a little hesitant to mess with it till i get some good info. its my A to b fone.lol. So hey will a firmare flash or whatever erase my files, like pics and stuff? Ne way great work here looking forward to your response!

Do not flash that frimware on your fone . it will kill it.
press and hold down *,# and power key , all at the same time to get to the bootloader screen .
THis will tell you what firware you need to get for your fone.
What are you trying to to with the fone?

K, here's the dealio; I have a VodaFone, u know triing to save a few bucks when my old at&t razr got smashed by "some"girls jealous friend that 's what i get for messin around. i guess, why do girls flock when you're hooked up already.but she was the one i was messin with, and her friend just wanted me to leave the one I was with. long story short. skateboards make great cell phone hammers.lol. so theres the drama, prob, tmi. so its voda fone label and all and i want to get it to at&t becasuse i guess they just caught on and for one reason started charging me for picture text messages even though i have a package to not get charged for them. b.s. right?
i can't even get the blue tooth to pass the info ie. contacts and pictures to another att fone. So whats a good program to help me back up that stuff, will the firm ware destroy it, or is it like a psp, it works like a patch only on certain file segments?

IF you want to flsh your fone to Cingular or other service provider, you don't need to test point.
If you want to unlock your fone then yes you need to do test point before you can unlock it.
But you need to goole for p2k Easy Tool 3.7 to unlock your fone
you can go here to get p2k driver 2.9 for you fone -
Hello Old_Fool, I am in need of your wisdom. I am new to this, so any help is a blessing to me. I am in the same boat as setotitan is, accept my phone doesn't hop networks just keeps searching all today. I just finished recharging the battery. I have a data cable, RSD lite 4.5.3 program and a flash file. I'm just not sure what step to take first. Run the program then plug phone to PC then look for the flash file. I need steps to follow so I don't crash the phone.

Was it working before?.
Install program then run it--> connect fone to PC check to see if program see it. It should go thru install about 6 drivers for your fone. One it see your fone load up the flash and flash away.
Make sure the flash you have matched to the one you have on your fone.
Press *,# and power to fet fone power up in flash mode and tell me what you got

I got this fone because my other razr v3xx quit working. It can only be powered on and off. I needed a new one and bought it online. In the old fone my ATT sim card still works, but when I try it in the new fone all it does is search for network. All the features and buttons work, but some buttons say like Vodafone Live!, Musik kaufen, Meine Wunschliste and Vodafone Sync. Somehow I don't think their English. Here is other info on the fone.

Don't flash that hold on let me ckeck. You have the European version so it might not be compatable with the ATT typical V3xx flash.
Try this first.
Go to setting-- network-- and change the band to 850-1900
