Which one do you guys prefer and why? I am currently on the Nextel iDEN network, and I do not know whether to get new iDEN phones, or Qchat phones. I read that Sprint is selling the 800MHz spectrum to the gov, so I dont know if Nextel will continue anyway. But still, what are your thoughts? Thank you in advance!

IDen is the past, it isn't expanding much if at all, and as Sprint reduces its available bandwidth, it gets less and less reliable. QChat from what I've heard is as fast as IDen's walkie talkie, but will work best in Sprints EVDO RevA data network, it may still work on slower networks, but if it does, you will likely notice a decrease in speed and quality. QChat has not yet been fully released, and at this time it will only work in certain markets, however, unlike the Hybrid phones, the QChat phone will work anywhere a Sprint phone does. I just wish I lived in an area where it had been released.

Just purchased a Sanyo Pro-700 last Sunday after owning an i850 for 2 years. At first the DC service sucked, but after a firmware upgrade from Cust. Service the phone has been working quite well. Q-chat definetely has better call quality than IDEN IMHO. Coverage is a least as good as IDEN so far. I drive a truck so I travel all over the northeast US so I'll have a better idea of coverage in a couple of weeks, but so far so good!

really? you should check the Motorola V950. It has more features and is coming a lot sooner. Also, moto has a lot of PTT experience. The Z400 by Samsung was not one of the best PTT phones

Okay.had my Sanyo Pro-700 for about a month and just returned it! Decent phone for voice calls but absolutely unreliable for Direct Connect! Plus the change in plans was going to cost me upwards of $80-100 more a month! Tried it.maybe when they get it right we do it again!

It probably was less the phone, and more the network at this time. Sprint is using a brand new technology, it's possible that a software patch is all that it will need to fix the problem. It also depends on the coverage of EVDO RevA in your area.
