Hello. I'm currently on a T-Mobile Family Plan, and I've been trying to purchase a text messaging plan(one of the 400 text messages for $4.99). When I go on my phone(KRZR K1) to T-Zones, then to the "Messaging" part at the bottom of the page, then to "Any 400 messages for $4.99". I click on it, then it comes up with a page describing the plan with two options at the bottom, "Sign Up" or "Cancel". I click "Sign Up", then it takes me to a "Accept" or "Decline" page. I accept it, and then it just says that my purchase could not be completed at this time. It instructs me to visit my t-mobile dot com or to call 611.
I have tried visiting t-mobile dot com, and when I go to my account, then to plan, then to "Change Services", there isn't even a texting plan on there. I can't call 611 today because it's the Fourth of July. Normally I would just wait, but I'm leaving tomorrow morning for a two week trip where I'll need(not really need, I guess, but it'd be very nice) the texting plan, and I won't have an opportunity to call then. Does anyone know how to buy the plan? Am I just missing something obvious?
Thanks in advance, although I don't like saying that because it makes me sound too expectant.

I believe the primary account holder has to authorize changes to the plan in person over the phone because they are responsible for the bill. If one of the kids started signing up for stuff, the parent could get stuck with a lot of unwanted/ unauthorized charges.

Actually I had this same problem, but see I was the primary contract holder, since the family plan consists of me and my boyfriend.
I ended up calling T-Mobile and they just added it in for me. I'm assuming it's a glitch because I was unable to add it on to my boyfriend's line. I even went through my own preferences and his as well.

The 4.99 msg plan works though for individual lines on a family plan

bombing correct. Many times the most cost effective option for a family acount with 1 or more non texters. Not cost effective when 2 or more lines use 400 or more each.
