RAZR V3i

Neither with a photo or with a unique caller ringtone. The contact is stored on the phone memory, caller ID is ON. Any suggestions?

In the menu (Ring Styles), In the (Soft Detail) or (Loud Detail) what evere you set. Make sure the (Ringer IDs) opation set 'On'. I hope that sort of your problem. Good luck.

some phone must include the area code if they are in ya contacts. The number will show but not the name. If the contact name is Sexy Momma 860-123-4567 you will only get 860-123-4567 if the 860 isnt stored with the name. some contacts are only 123-4567. gotta have that 860 in it.
I know this isnt what you're talking about but.

I don't quite understand what you mean with the phonenr. As far as I know- there's only one way to add a contact/number: enter a name and then add a cellphone, housephone or workphonenumber.

This is how I tried to activate Caller ID:

Caller ID was ON in Profile Detail.

Copied my contacts from SIM-card to phone. Turned Caller ID on for a contact and added a specific ringtone.

That should be it, right? Anything else I should check?

After days of research I figured it out on an American site where someone posted a similar problem:

apparently my phone was not for the Dutch market (probably one of a batch purchased by my reseller in Germany) and needed not only the country and areacode, but a + sign before it as well.

now at last it recognizes my contacts and adds ringtones, names and pics. hope I can help someone else with this info.
