I have a brand new, shiny Razr v9 and I can not yet bend it to my will.
This is getting frustrating.
Firstly Is this the best place to be to ask questions about the phone functionality? If not, where is?
I am currently trying to move all my contacts from my old phone to my new phone. I put my sim card into the razr and managed to copy all the contacts over. I then put the sim back into the old phone and transfered all the contacts to it, so it's now nice a full. Put the sim back into the new phone and when to copy the contacts over and. I can't find the option. it's not there! Help?
secondly - there was a USB cable in the box, what can I do with this? I'm plugged it inito the phone and computer and windows couldn't find the driver - do I have the BUY this or is it online somewhere (not found it yet. linky anyone?)
any help greatfully received - yes I have read the manual (maybe that was where I went wrong!).
Thanks,
Amy

(Sigh) One virtue of life is to have some patience when asking for help from a community that is willing to be helpful without being paid to do so. You asked your question over a weekend when a lot of people, including phone geeks (speaking for myself) do have lives and don't hover over a computer screen just waiting to answer questions. However, I am now in a position to do so, so I will offer some help. I need to check the V9 manual for something, so just a sec.
Ahh, yes, on page 68 of the Razr2 V9 manual, it lists the instructions on how to do this. Basically, select "Address Book", press "Options", select "Select Multiples to.", and select either "Copy Phone to SIM" or "Copy SIM to Phone". Give that a shot and let us know how it goes.
As to the USB cable, it is used to connect to the phone to the computer, that much is certain. But you need to have program such as Motorola Phone Tools" or "CelSync" to actually do something. These programs load the drivers necessary for the program to communicate with the phone. These programs can be used to store, edit, and re-load contact lists, address books, upload or download songs, ringtones, pics, etc. Basically, productivity programs for your Razr. I recommend either program, but there are othes as well.
Hope this helps (sincerely),
