I tried as Neo said but before, I gave it another try by searching the cd for the drivers… and I lost my time.
As Neo said, that could be a really good shot. But when the installation process is running, there not seems to be anything unzip to somewhere. So I got back…
I knew the installation has been done but why does Win2k keep asking me for the drivers? So I’ve done one thing that I almost forgot: when the Win2k is starting, finding new hardware and asking for drivers I’ve point it to: c:\winnt\inf. And he searched there for the drivers and… he fond there all the information he needed to work!!
Finally it’s working and he never asked me for nothing else again.

If by any chance, some of u purchased a DKU-5 frmo Ebay, the one that isnt a continous wire like the OEM one, then you have to get the drivers elsewhere, like the DKU-5 i purchased from ebay was not supported by nokia which had a button along the length of the wire with a red light on it. After the driver was installed, it worked like a breeze with the Nokia PC suite!!
GOOD LUCK!!

Take your cables back to where you bought them, then buy a infrared device. it works out about the same as the cable and when you upgrade to a new phone its a 60/40 chance it will have a infra red port meaning you can still use your newly bought infrared device after your nokia is well gone

jamatjam were right... Mostly phone nowdays have irDA. If u buy a dku-5 cable, it just fit for nokia only. If u change to other brand (sonyericsson, samsung,LG,etc), u have to buy a new cable that support...If you buy irDA, u can used it on other devices, pda, laptop, pc, etc)

hi,
i have got a dku-5 cable for my nokia 6100. BUT windows does not recognise it when i plug the cable in. So i dont know how to install the driver. I have tried it on 3 computers. I have installed the nokia suite and other phone software however windows still does not recognise the cable.
I have checked the comms port settings etc and tried to add new hardware/drivers. but it cant find any for the cable. Can anyone help me, can i get a driver for it off the web? i have looked and i aint found any.
Also if you look at the top of the page some guy said he found the driver in windows me. Where can i find the driver for the cable for windows xp, it might work then.
thanks

DKU-5 Driver (Win98SE/ME/2000/XP):
http://www.nokia.com/popupDisclaimer?productId=229&categoryId=18&discl aimerId=9&fileId=3354&languageId=1
DKU-5 Manual:
http://nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/guides/Nokia_DKU-5_en2.pdf
Please read the manual. It also explains how to install the cable!
And maybe you've been tricked (or do something wrong on your own ) and got an DKU-2 Cable (which only works with Nokia 3300, 6650). They look very similar. Afaik the DKU-5 has the bigger USB-Adapter.

I find out dat my N6610 can download the ringtone n wallpaper I edited, using Nokia PC suite.
First, Edit photo or ringtone to campatible file, using Nokia PC suite photo n ringtone converter. Save them to your PC.
Upload that file to your geocities or tripod account.
For example, my account is jie_xp, file is "fu.mid"
Then, u can download them with Nokia 6610 wap. Select GO TO LINK n type "http://geocities.com/jie_xp/fu.mid" N6610 will download that ringtone.
If u don believe, try to dwonload the ringtone dat i had edited, at http://geocities.com/jie_xp/fu.mid with your handphone.
I think this great idea will help u download game too, by upload them to internet server like geocities.
I share this idea with all of u. Try to teach the others. IR port or Data Cable is no needed. Data cable n IR Port usually cause problem. Trust me n save money with my innovative way.
I think my idea also work with any WAP model handphone. A geat news, right?
I hope to know n share my idea with other innovative PC user or H/P user. Plz e-mail me at ong_ting_jie@hotmail.com
