No I don't mean changing the esn since I know it's illegal. If I was going to do anything it would be repairing an esn and I would be specific about it. What I mean is changing the backplate (the gray one that brings the sprint TP) for the diamond cut one.
For example look at this "sprint's htc Touch Pro" in ebay: item number:320318345470
I would love to be able to make mine look like that (at least the backpart of it) instead of the silver(gray) back.
An easier and shorter description of what I want to do is to make my sprint's TP look more like the gsm unlocked version.
I'm sorry but I can't post any links. But if you search for item number in ebay you'll see what I mean.

Ok I couldn't quite understand all of your issues, but here's what I know from experience. Who knows.maybe it'll help you some.
Ok, if you just upgraded to the lotus, you have a 30 day exchange period that no one can take away from you. Make sure you let them know you want to change your phone through the 30 day exchange.
I would do all this through phone since they are able to help you the most---->If that's not your case, and you haven't gotten your contract extended, you're in luck. Talk to a CSR explain to them the situation, if they don't help ask to speak to their representative, if they don't help ask for retention and tell them you want to cancel your contract. When they ask you why, explain to them the situation(stress that you've been with sprint for 8 years) and I'm sure they'll be more than happy to replace that phone, accredit you with free (something), heck you could even get a new touch pro for less than what new customers are getting it. Remember to always be respectful though, if you want someone to help ya out, you can't give them no attitude or disrespect (after all they are the ones who're trying to help you), of course don't forget to explain to a supervisor how awful the CSR treated you (only if that's the case!) and how awful the company is treating your business with them.
That will probably help a lot. And I'm sure they'll be willing to do any exception for you as long as you renew your contract with them.
PS. I understand how you feel though. Just an FYI; I spent more than 6 hours trying to get them to allow me to do a 30 day exchange in a corporate store, which they wouldn't allow (since I got the diamond for "free" n free = $20). They wanted me to return the diamond and pay $300 for the Touch Pro even though a supervisor had told me that it was ok for me to exchange at a store with 30 day exchange program. In the end I just took the invoice they sent me to a 2nd corporate store and they were happy to assist me, getting my TP for a grand total of $50. Of course they extended my contract, but that doesn't bother me since I've gotten a couple of extras from sprint this last couple of months for all the troubles I've had in the past with them.
Just be patient and keep insisting and you'll find someone helpful in there.

I'm just new in this forum. I found this in google while I'm checking sprint related topics. I could be of help at any times if you have any questions or problems regarding your sprint/nextel account. I can't promise a response right away to e-mails or posts being sent to me nor I can't promise to give call backs to customers who needs to speak with a supervisor cause I'm also taking other supervisor calls. But if you may please send me your questions/issues I'd be more than happy to assist you and we'll see what we can do.
I have an issue with SPRINT's upgrade policy. Why is it that if i choose to upgrade my phone with the cash discount that i receive whether its $75 off after 1-year or $150 off after 2-years it is deducted from the retail price versus the price tag?
Sprint example:
HTC Touch Pro at sale tag price....
Regular price $579.99
Instant savings -$180.00
Mail-in Rebate -$100.00
Sale price $299.99
As an upgrade....
1-year
Regular price $579.99
Instant savings -$75.00
New price $504.99
2-year
Regular price $579.99
Instant savings -$150.00
New price $429.99
VERIZON
1-yr plan
Regular price $589.99
Instant savings -$70.00
Sale price $419.99
2-yr plan
Regular price $539.99
Instant savings -$70.00
Sale price $349.99
As an upgrade....
1-yr Upgrade
Regular price $589.99
Instant savings -$70.00
Sale price $419.99
UPGRADE -$50.00
New price $369.99
2-yr plan
Regular price $539.99
Instant savings -$70.00
Sale price $349.99

**Why is there such a difference in upgrade policy? Is it really that hard to consider a similar policy.**

This actually was post before you decided to answer it. It was posted here first inorder to get a response from the so called Sprint Supervisor. Not for you, which explains why i quoted his post.
Either way it was double posted and That's annoying and wasteful.

Dear SPRINT SUPERVISOR:
This is my problem. I have been a customer of Sprints for about 7 years or so. I have always maintained 2 lines, and recently added a 3rd. The 3rd is the Instinct, with the 99.99 SE Plan. The 2nd is 450 minutes for about 39.99 to 49.99, i forget, the the first is a blackberry, also with the unlimited SE Plan. Yesterday, I decided to write and ask for a 'Loyalty Discount'. I was denied. First I was told it was because I had a SE Plan, and needed that removed first.- Next I was told that the system would not allow it to apply any discounts to the SE Plans, then finally was told that Sprint no longer offered the 'Loyalty Discount'.
They don't give discounts on se plans. they are already discounted alot. those are the exact words retentions told me. sorry.
