Unlocked or not, upgraded or not, a 2G (or original) iPhone will never work on ANY 3G system because it doesn't have a 3G-capable radio.
It's a hardware thing.

t-mobile is using aws 1700mhz for their 3g network. att uses 1900mhz I believe. that means that any att 3g phone will not work on t-mobile 3g without having the ability to work on aws spectrum

well thats dumb, shouldnt the internet be faster anyway? im paying 20 bucks a month for the internet add on, they should make it faster than just 140 kbps.

you own a 2g phone. that speed is pretty good for edge.
if you need high speed mobile internet t mobile is not the right choice for you. sprint, verizon, and att would suit you better. my mobile internet bill is 10 bucks a month with sprint and i get about 756k downstream pretty steady but they promise up to 1.5 Meg. with new upgrades i will be able to see 5 to 15 meg downstream speeds but that's still about a year or two away.

I'd rather stick to my pocket pc. I don't wanna waste money on apple and iphone stuffs.
