Hi! im new in this forum. I recently buy a E-700.. and if u think urs it has lack of posibilites.. mine is worst. This phone is "new" on spain.. and all are from import, so they have no dictionary in spanish. I ask to samsung spain and they told me that in 1 month more o less they will have upgrade soft for my e-700. hehe here in spain where a little "3º world".

Well this "error" and the no posibility to upload java games with irda or a cable are the worst errors on my e-700

monique27, does IRDa work for you then??????? Because I bought an IRDa cable from ebay and I can't get it to work?? Do you use easystudio because I have tried and I can't change the settings so it looks for the IRDa port, only the COM ports (2 and 3 I think) but know I can't even do that because when I open it I get a message "cannot read messages" and I press OK and then it just goes really slowly (my mouse movements are very jagged etc.) and i have left it for several hours and nothing else happens. This is really starting to piss me off now, lol.

For 5 days ago i wrote to samsung.es to improve his firmware in our E700 and to explain some lack of firmware functionality and today they reply to me this ... mail : Estimado/a cliente,le agradecemos sus sugerencias seran escaladas al departamento de marketing para las tengan en cuenta para futuros modelos. in english : thanks for your suggestions we will say this suggestions to marketing department for future models. I sometimes think that samsung in spain is not too good.

buenas sickboy, soy un poseedor de un e700 y acabo de encontrar este foro. La verdad q esta muy bien y me acabo de enterar q se puede actualizar el firmware y otras cosas...

Te qiero preguntar un par de cosas. Si actualizo el firmware, el idioma qedara español?

Y puedes subir juegos al movil? via cable o irda?

Hi

I have now had my e700 for 7 days.

On the whole I am happy with the phone, it does have some "quirks" which are a little annoying....

1) No pop 3 email facility, so you cant send propper emails.
2) No GPRS Counter
3) The Infrared port seems to be very sensative (move the phone 1mm and it loses connection) and I am still having problems getting it to work with easy studio.
4) It dosnt appear to be possible to assign one of your own photos to "caller id" you can only assign the preset images contained in the phone.

But other than that its great......and it looks the dogs wotsits!

Well I wrote to them in thr UK and this is what I got back from them.

Dear Sara,

Thank you for your email dated 25.01.04 regarding your Samsung product.

We thank you for your comments these are however features of the phone.

There is no firmware upgrade at present and there are no plans to release any updates in the near future.

I have purchased the E700 with a few days a go ... and many surprises from them ... Can't assign personalized tone or photo to call groups, side key extra features (silent, reject) doesn't work ... I haved an Siemens SL55 earlier, and the software is 1000% better than this from E700 ... I send multiple messages to different contry samsung support pages, but no reply yet ... I don't know what to think about ... they have a very deffective customer support ... maybe the worst... I hope that will be remmeded soon... Until then, I think that the aquisition of a new Samsung E700 is a big mistake.

I've just told them that I know that the problem is from firmware, but they give me this answer... L.O.L. ... "great" customer service... bleah...
