Hi, I have a T610 that aparently won't unlock. The phone shop I took it too said it was the latest software and he can't unlock it. Can anyone help? The firmware version on my phone is: R1L013.
Is this guy lieing or is he telling the truth, 'cos he offered me an older version for a lower price.... it all seemed a bit off to me.
I live in the UK by the way...

I have had my T610 for a couple of weeks and it was locked to Vodafone, i posted on here only to get some sarcastic comments, like 'why not buy it on the network you want to use it on' but i thought thats my business so anyway, i went to a couple of local stalls but they said it was too new and they keep updating the software and i would be waiting a few weeks so i ended up caling Vodafone and they did it for £20 i know its abit dear but it depends how much you want it done, it only took them about 3days to send me the info i needed, so you could get in touch with the network its locked to or wait till it can be unlocked by local stalls its upto you.

Thanks for the advice, it was gonna cost me about £20 to get it unlocked from the shop I went in so I don't mind that. Just to be sure, the t610 I've got is on orange, I want to get it on to 02.... do I phone orange or 02?
Just incase anyone was wondering why I didn't get the phone on 02... the shop I got it from didn't sell it on 02 and orange was selling it at £40 cheaper than the others

You need to get in touch with Orange and ask for the unlock code so you can use any network sim card, i am also on o2 now after unlocking mine, (do you know about the 99p sims they are doing online where you get free 300 texts and 300 wap a month?)
They will send you the unlock code in the post or by email.

if you have the latest firmware version then the phone is a lot harder to unlock. but it can be done. i had the same problem but just look around on the web.

I have just unlocked an Orange Sony Ericsson T610 to an 02 network, have problems getting on to the internet connection but apart from that phone was unlocked in 10 minutes.
