Hey everyone,
I bought a Samsung A437 in May and since i bought it with a service plan, the ability to go to "network selection" is greyed out. I was wondering if I can call ATT and get an unlock code since it has been 90 days. If not, can I unlock this feature of my phone thru a code of some sort? What would be the risks to my phone?
Thanks

the network selection option is basically used for international travel. THe phone is a quad band phone, which means it runs on the GSM 800/850/1800/1900Mhz frequencies. The best thing to do is let it be (since there's really not much you can do about it), however, if you're travelling north toward Canada, it may let you manually select netorks, either between the US networks and the Canadian networks. This is just a theory, however.

the network selection on most device have been disabled and the phone is on automatic selectio to connect to gsm services allowed by your sim card this prevents outragious roaming charges by sonnecting to a non contracted roaming company that charges 3.99 a min for roaming.

Cptech's answer is better. I admit it.
