Hi All,
I live in Hungary but am going back to the states for xmas. i want to pick up the T616 there because it's many times cheaper there than here.
My first question would be whats the difference if any other than a regional product code?
My second qustion is, how can I add language packs to the phone? Here of course they have hungarian loaded as an option. From what I gather the US (T616) version only has dutch, italian, german french and spanish (but definitely not Hungarian).
What will I have to do to add it?
Thanks in advance!
John

Well, mr. egri bikavér, I dun think that you have too many choices. You could buy your T616 in the USA, then update its firmware here in Hungary so that it'll have hungarian in it too. But if you want to use some languages of the US version of the phone's firmware too, then I think that you've got to choose, coz in this case, there's no "middle way"...

Szia Ganxta B!
Since you live in Hungary too could you tell me what it would take to get the firmware changed?
Will it cost me anything or is it covered under the warranty? If it's not free, How much will it cost in a store? Can they even do it in stores?
I've had my phone unlocked before, "outside the store" and I'm guessing I'll will I have to do the same again, can the same people usually reinstall the firmware?
Koszonom!

Well, here in Gödöllő, there's one GSM shop that volunteers to upgrade fimware for approximately 3000 Fts. At least this is what the shopkeeper told me when I asked for a firmware upgrade, since mine was bought in Indonesia by my father, also for cost reasons. But now, I have English, Malaysian and Indonesian T9 Input, which isn't too useful here. You would only have to leave your phone in a shop like that for a day (most of the time... ) or so, but if they flash your fw on the spot, then that's even better. So, as you've probably figured out by now, that sadly, upgrading your fw isn't covered by the phone's warranty. But, something started moving around Sony Ericsson, coz they have an FTP firmware updating site for the P900, and when someone posted about it on www.esato.com, the whole server was flooded by SE users, and soon the whole stuff simply froze. So, SE would still have to increase the bandwith a little bit, and enable this service with all the other phones. Maybe by next year, at least the most popular phones' users (ehm, T610/616 IS very popular) would have this possibility...
