Any one else out there getting charges on your Verizon wireless bill that you did not incur? Since May of 2008 Verizon keeps charging me and my sisters phones with bogus charges. First they took our txt msg off and turned around and charged us over $700.00 in txtg. They said we went on the computer @ 12:00 midnight and canceled our txt msg. on both phones (I guess they thought we liked being charged hundreds of $$ for something we were paying $9.99 a month for) from there it went down hill. We would be charged for opera ring backs amoung others, news magazines saying we went on the internet by phone to get it when that feature is blocked to this day, reacuring txt msg. charges from former months. My life is miserable. Every month I have to go over the bill with a fine tooth comb. I'm locked into a contract with them and can't get out. Yet isn't there anything in the contract that protects us? Anyone have any ideas if i can take legal action against Verizon. this is so very frustrating to have to deal with this!

Those are sorry circumstances, I'm truly sorry for how that must feel. I recommend (and this takes a deal of patience) talking with customer service regarding your issues and trying your best to learn the system. By that I mean learning how to monitor your usage, check your plan details online and how to avoid high bills in the future. The customer service should be more than informative and be willing to help, especially if it was VZW mistake in billing you. But if you start arguing and fighting with them I imagine you won't get as far as fast, but request somebody higher up if you are having doubts about the answers you're getting. I just say try and try again but ultimately learn to control your account, it may mean monitoring it for errors now and then. Certain blocked features still can be accessed if they are not blocked correctly or entirely and also if the phone still has programs on it then sometimes you can be billed that way, too. That would be another question for the customer service if and when you make the call. Best of luck.

I agree fully with paperstreet. Most important is don't lose your cool. You should ask if they have the IP addresses associated with the txt'ing that raised your bill up to $700.00 + $'s. And a printed record of the alleged online request to cancel the txt portion of your package priced @ 9.99 a mnth, which then caused your service to be charged at a rate of per txt. They have records of online requests for change of services, these MUST include the User name/pswrd, time of action, date, as well as the IP address from the ISP ntwrk the computer is assigned on. Last, but not least, there's always the Attorney Generals office who takes great interest in Francise Fraud. Good Luck.
