so im looking into getting a new phone and moving away from sanyo . sanyos just are not very attractive phones as a whole.
so im wondering . with an internal antenna, what manufacturer has better reception . samsung or LG phones?
also . which phone types (still w/ internal antenna) get better reception : flip, bar, or slide phones

Bar phones will usually get the best reception of internal antennas. LG has never been known for it's signal, unfortunately, Sanyo is known for it's signal. I think the Katana LX looks pretty good, in person, pictures make it look cheap. Go to a store and get one in your hand, you may like it. The Katana II was hideous enough I know.

the thing about bar phones is that when talking on them, its like holding a brick in your hand, which is very uncomfortable for lengthy conversations.
so you would say samsung is better for signal/reception than LG?
also does the amount of radiation given off affect reception of the phone?

No, radiation doesnt affect the signal of the phones. Samsung is the world leader in market share of phones right now and they've been making great moves across the board. I've carried the Rant, A900 and other samsung products and they've been solid. You might also want to look at Sanyo Phones as well as stated in the first reply to your post. Hope this helps!
