As you can tell from the subject I have the LG VX8550, the music essentials kit, and the test version of BitPim. No matter what I try though, bitpim cannot find my phone. The port is always under inoperable ports, and it never works. I tried sending my custom ring tone to my phone, only to fail in the end. Most of the ring tones I want, are not available for purchase, so when I learned I can add custom ring tones, I was ecstatic, but it doesn't work for me. Please help.

Have you tried different file types before sending them to your device? And ensuring the size/quality of the files aren't too large for the device? If bitpim isn't working have you searched around for any other software? For the chocolate two I never had problems with the phone being recognized

No, I'm not having a problem with the file type, I'm having a problem with bitpim recognizing my phone period. I've read dozens of people getting it to work their Chocolate 2, but it just doesn't work with mine. If there is a different program to upload ring tones and such to my phone, I'd love to learn what they are.
