Hello, i just won a black Sprint Palm Centro in an online radio station contest and i haven't opened the box yet.
It's a Sprint phone, but i am on the Verizon network.
Would i be able to use this phone on my Verizon account?
I looked at the Palm website where they let you compare the phones for Verizon/Sprint/Att/Unlocked GSM
Under both Verizon and Sprint i see this:
Radio Dual-band CDMA2000 EvDO backward compatible with 1XRTT and IS95
But under AT&T i see this:
Radio GSMŪ/GPRS/EDGE class 10 radio, quad band world phone
(850/900/1800/1900MHz)
.
Does that mean if i unlock this phone i would be able to use it with Verizon?
Thanks!

Now, someone may come along and correct my information, but as far as my knowledge goes, as long as a phone is unlocked, you can use it on whatever network that matches the technology of the phone.
Example: Your Sprint Palm Centro is probably CDMA (EV-DO). The two major carriers that use EVDO is Sprint and Verizon, in a couple of different frequencies (not sure which off the top of my head)
T-Mobile and AT&T both use GSM/GPRS/EDGE of various frequencies.

No, you can not use a sprint centro on the verizon network or vice versa. the software loaded on the device will not work properly and the two companies don't share an esn database. your best bet is to either offer a straight trade for a verizon phone through craig's list or try selling it on ebay.

Actually i think i may be moving over to sprint under my company's discount, so it's a moot point now. Thanks for your input though!
