I am under my dad's family plan with Alltel. Our contract is up in a month, and I am thinking of going off on my own. He won't let me pay him for the blackberry service and messaging I want(BB Curve). I needed freedom, so I am going on my own.

Alltel seems to be overpriced compared to AT&T for the plan I want. Also a rep from AT&T explained to me about how when you use the internet on alltel's plan they actually charge you talktime minutes for the amount of time you are on the internet. Is this true? She said AT&T does not because they are seperated.

I have had no problems with Alltel's coverage and my girlfriend has AT&T which she says she has no problems. I am still a little worried about coverage though when I drive from my present location to my original home which is 6 hours.

Any thoughts?
