here's wat i did
1) uninstall DKU driver

3) download this TUSB3410 software from
https://www-a.ti.com:443/apps/analog_apps/tusb3410_uart_register.asp

Hi,
I have just purchased a Nokia 3100 last month, and recently got a data cable
DKU-5 to connect.
I downloaded the latest cable driver from Nokia and also the PC suite.
I did the following: first installed the cable driver, then connected the USB cable to the USB port of the computer and the other end to the mobile.
But the driver does not seem to reconize the cable.
Everytime my PC tells me a new hardware is found and tries to find the driver!
I tried reinsalling the cable driver but it gave me a repair or remove option.
what could have gone wrong? a another thing is how do you connect to the com port when the cable is a USB ? is that that you need a serial to usb converter.
I have only one com port which is connected to my serial modem.I use a P4
windows XP home .
I like to hear from you all on how to get this cable to work???

onlypankaj,
Have you ever contacted the seller of the cable and request for the correct driver or link to the driver?
pradeep_deepu,
Did you get the original Nokia cable or 3rd party cable? If it is a Nokia one, I suggest you consult Nokia Technical support for help. I know little about Nokia USB driver since I use IrDA for my 6020. If it is a 3rd party one, the Nokia USB driver may not work for the cable. As I suggested to onlypankaj, you have to contact the seller of the cable for the driver. As for the COM port, you are right that the USB driver is to bridge between the USB port and the S/W which is expecting a Serial COM port.
