Here is what worked for me, hopefully it will work for you too:
1) Unistall the Nokia suite, driver and any other software related to the phone.
2) Restart the computer.
3) Install the driver's for DKU5 with the cable DISCONNECTED.
4) Connect the cable.
5) Go through Windows installation process, when you get a message saying it is not compatible with XP chose to install it anyway.
6) After the cable driver is recognized, install Nokia suite software for syncronization.
It is unbelievable. You have to install in this order to work!
Good luck!

you can find stuff on the internet (of course) but try finding on google search engine.
Instructions are this... unzip the file into a folder and then run the cable_driver application and then restart your system... then attach the cable and point to the folder that you unzipped the file.
Hope it will work on you too.
Best wishes from Romania.

Installing the TI USB driver worked for me. Note this is a free download, even though it uses TI's order system.
Thanks

hi dear,
thank you for the information.
but am not able to download the driver from the link.
just bought my dku-5, thought l got a deal until l notice it doesnt work and there aint any nokia sign on it. only the stupid made in china. why china why ? l am a few dollars poorer and unhappy because l was conned.
tried the prolific driver failed, tried the ti driver failed, tried the third driver failed.
all resulted in your device malfunctuned. spent 6 hours.
the serial ek21005771, made in china.
any ideas. the morale is if it s too good to be true dont buy it.

Sometimes you need to save those drivers before they get deleted
