I had the same problem with my data cable. My cable was 2nd party not original....XP saw the usb but would not install the correct software...besides nokia's driver I also had to download a 'USB Data Cable Driver' Once I did this, then plugged in my USB cable everything installed automatically and I could use my data cable. Cool! I now have my very own wallpaper! I downloaded the 2nd driver from: http://indcables.crmdesk.net/?_a=downloads. It just says 'USB Driver' at the bottom of the page.
Hope this helps somebody.....

Hi, I have already done from checking if I have a prolific cable in my registry or not. I have found Vid_067b&Pid_2303 so I went to prolific and downloaded PL-2303H/X/HX Installshield Driver Setup Program but found v20014v20026 for xp. I installed it but still got the same problem. It said “New Hardware Found” but looking for software for USB-UART TX LINE. It can’t be found in my DKU-5 cd and even on my program files. Just to give you an idea. my cable is DKU-5 but I don’t think it’s an original one. and the cellphone I used for it is Nokia 3220. Please help.

Hi,
I have just purchased a Nokia 3100 last month, and recently got a data cable
DKU-5 to connect.
I downloaded the latest cable driver from Nokia and also the PC suite.
I did the following: first installed the cable driver, then connected the USB cable to the USB port of the computer and the other end to the mobile.
But the driver does not seem to reconize the cable.
Everytime my PC tells me a new hardware is found and tries to find the driver!
I tried reinsalling the cable driver but it gave me a repair or remove option.
what could have gone wrong? a another thing is how do you connect to the com port when the cable is a USB ? is that that you need a serial to usb converter.
I have only one com port which is connected to my serial modem.I use a P4
windows XP home .
I like to hear from you all on how to get this cable to work???
1. Install the DKU-5 drivers, without plug the cable
2. Install the Nokia pC suite software, again without plug the cable.
3. Now, the most important, you must install the drivers for TUSB3410. This driver creates a virtual COM port based on a USB connection.
You can find the driver at:
http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/folde...t/tusb3410.html
there's a lot of information on that page, but you can find the ling at the bottom, with the label:
"TI Virtual COM Port Windows Drivers and Firmware"
4. Once the TUSB3410 driver is installed, now you can plug the USB cable on you usb port, without be connected to the phone.
You 'll see a message informing that windows found a TYSB3410 device and couldn't find the driver. Select the option to locate the driver yourself, selecting the folder where the driver was installed (commonly, c:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\USB-Serial Adapter).
This message will appear twice, once for the new device and the other for the new port.
5. Finaly, you can plag the phone to the cable.
6. Open the Nokia connection manager, select Serial Cabe DKU-5, click on setup, and select the new "USB - Serial Port (COMx)"
Notice that you should do this step every time you unplug the cable. This is because the port is removed when the cable is unplugged.

My DKU-5 cable has a regedit listing as follows:
Vid_10ac&Pid_10c6
Can someone help me to find a driver for this as I am unsuccessful?
