Last year I forgot my phone in NY while visiting relatives. When I returned to FL I called Sprint and told them that it will take a week or two before I can get it back. They offered to place my account on hold until I was ready to use my phone. I thought that all was well until I received my next bill and found that I was now paying more for the same plan. I called and was told that, that was the new price of the plan and that since I had placed my account on hold I can no longer continue to receive my plan for the previous price.
This was over a year ago and now I need to upgrade my phone. I am being told that my contract was extended at that time I lost my phone. Well I never agreed to this. How does Sprint make a contract with a customer without ever notifying the said customer? I didnt cange plans or phones. Why does Sprint try to rip off customers?

According to the FCC, we (Service Providers) cannot accept a verbal agreement for a 2 yr contract, the longest we can accept verbally is 11 months, other than that it must be either in writing or through an automated system that acts as a electronic signature (that was passed into law by Bill Clinton) so, with that said, what they did according to law, was in fact illegal, you might want to check into other people that have had this issue and contact a lawyer
By placing the account on hold, he is subject to the terms and conditions of that hold whatever they may be. why even put the account on hold? it's 2 weeks lol.

Obviously you didn't read the post, he said he forgot his phone in NY and not lost it, he wanted to suspend his line until he got his phone back, so your telling me it was ethical of Sprint to extend his contract and change his rate plan just because he wanted his line suspended during the time he went without his phone? I tell ya what buddy, come on over to at&t we would never treat anyone like that

the point being he got a replacement phone.prolly at reduced or no cost and kept the phone.ego the extention. at att (for example) when you activate a phone you are agreeing to the terms of the new contract.

"I didnt change plans or phones" is what he said, how could they extend your contract and change your rate plan when you want your phone suspended? I have never heard of such, maybe some companies practice this as BAU, don't make it right though
