1) An iPhone that has been dropped into a lake and now has water damage is not worth it.
2) Even if you could get all the water dried out, you're gonna have problems because the circuts inside the phone are probably junked by now.
3) The iPhone is not compatable for usage on Verizon's network. AT&T uses a technology called GSM, while Verizon uses a technology called CDMA.
Just purchase a new on and port your number to AT&T. That'd be easiest. An 8 Gb is $199.99 with a new 2 year contract.

In case you wanted a second opinion.
You won't get it from me. Randa is completely right. Forget the iPhone that went swimming.
Or you can get a better phone from sprint or att, called the htc touch pro. i believe it's called the fuze for att. same phone though. but if you like verizon's coverage then sprint would be the better choice for you.

Ahh, where did that iPhone go, anyway? Oh, yeah, I eBayed it away, LOL
While I did like it a lot (and very fortunately, had great luck with it as well as AT&T's 3G service here in MS, which is not as congested with iPhone owners as major areas are), there were things about it that I grew weary of. The clumsy way of handling text messages, battery life, the whole touchscreen thing, a quiet ringtone and even clumsier ways of making and adding custom ringtones, and the general "you will do things our way and LIKE it"-ness of Apple and iTunes got to be a turn-off to me. I got a Motorola Q9h and I LOVE it. And it hasn't even locked up on me (yet). So I'm happier with the Q9h.
The iPhone? Well, I paid $199.00 for it. When I eBayed it, I even SAID that it had some wear on it and not to run the bid up and it STILL went for almost $400.00. It paid for the Moto Q9h TWICE! What a country!.LOL
Lol. i never liked apple's mantra. That's exactly why microsoft had to bail them out. ipod seems to be the only thing they have done right and even the ipod is getting passed up by better mp3 players.
