the G1 is not second rate. htc revised its end of year outlook because the phone is selling so well.

Yeah but the razr also sold extremely well and we all know the nightmares with those phones. just because something sells well doesn't mean it's quality is good. my personal opinion is this, the reasons for it's success are a matter of two main factors. one, t mobile really doesn't have any high end phones in it's line up to compete with the g1. also the fact google has it's name attached to it helps alot for sales. not everyone is educated in the mobile market as most of us are on this board. i think android is a definate step in the right direction, but like all things new, improvement and debugging is always majorly needed. after a few years of android development, there's no doubt it will be a solid competitor. but right now it's running of the google name more than anything. it's like when pop stars attach thier name to a fragrance. people buy it for the name mostly, but if it didn't have that name backing them and it was the same exact fragrance, sales wouldn't be a fraction of the former. And one last quick edit, if htc revised thier year end outlook, i would have to say it is because of mostly the touch pro/fuze and not the g1. Over all the touch pro is a better phone, and it has 3 major carriers selling it, AND selling out, compared to just t mobile selling the g1.

t-mobile is the only carrier in the US selling the G1, there are a number of international carriers selling it too.

I have looked at both the G1 and the beold. They have similar fetaures. My wife likes the fact that the Behold has a 5 megapixel camera aposed the the 3 megapixal on the G1. We'll probably buy on of each.next month, then I can compare the two.

Don't Buy a phone just for it's camera. it can be a million megapixels and it won't make much of a difference from a 2 megapixel due to the lense. you want to take pictures, buy a camera, not a phone.
