okay so basically, i just got the lg dare a few months ago. my mother is now getting a new phone. so my question is, if i give her my phone (which i got the 4.99 insurance on - the one you pay the $50 to get a new one if you break it) and she gets the insurance on her new phone and then we swap, will the phones still be covered under the insurances?

i hope i explained that correctly. we both have separate accounts through verizon, and i know someone's going to say just take eacother's phone, but neither of us are willing to swap phone numbers with eachother.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

thanks in advance icon_surprised.gif)

Yes, so long as the phones have the insurance in the first place just tell the representative making the change to confirm insurance is remaining after the swap.

i called verizon today and after a lot of searching, they told me it's not possible to do. but, as i said they did a lot of searching so i don't take that as a solid answer until i call again.

so i was wondering where you got your information?

The answer you received was incorrect. So long as your phone has insurance, and the phone you are swapping with has insurance, then the device exchange can be completed with each line retaining the insurance afterwards. If you speak to the right representative you'll get this taken care of withina few minutes.
Call customer service from a separate phone with both devices available, and both account holders available.
I obtain my information from VZW.
And Asurion will honor the insurance so long as the feature is attached to the mobile number.
Another option you have is to make the ESN change online at vzw.com, when you make the change to devices online there is no removal of insurance features.

yea i was planning on doing it online, screw paying vzw $15 to do something so simple! i just wanted to make sure if anything did happen to either phone (one will be brand new and the other is only a month old) that it's covered. thank you very much for your help! i'll try calling them again tomorrow and talking to someone else, and i'll definately be doing the switch online.

thank you!
