Ok so i have a c905 on o2 which i got from e2save which is through the carphone warehouse.
my problem is that when i write a text messege and try to send it to more than 10 contacts it automatically changes to a multimedia messege.
i called sony ericsson and they said it is something the network providers does, so i rang o2 and they say its a software problem which has something to do with sony ericsson.
so both se and o2 dont know what there talking about.
it cannot be a software fault because this is the second c905 iv had because the first one broke which also had this problem.
anyone who has a c905 have you got this problem?

Yes! Oh yes!
I am so glad to have seen your post.
I can report having seen exactly the same issue on my C905, and my wife has on hers too. We are on the '3' network, so this really does look like a problem with the handset/software rather than a network specific issue.
I am currently in contact with 3 to try and sort this out, but it is proving difficult to prove. Your post might help - and I hope likewise mine does you.

Well, I seem to have pretty much convince '3' technical support that there is at least a problem. I managed to recreate the error by sending myself a text 12 times - basically keep using the 'add contact' option to add your own number if you really want to try it. I recieved all of the messages but in my inbox they each had a green arrow net to them (which I believe indicates they are an MMS) but when I read them they are just plain SMS text.
I did this at the request of the support technition, who then refunded >most< (all bar 59p) of the incorrectly charged monies.
I now have to convince billing to do the same for my wife's phone.
I did take time to point out to '3' technical support just how unpopular they're going to be if a lot of people send Christmas or New Years messages to their friends and family (as we did) and then get billed a shed load of money when the messages should be free (included in their package as SMS). I said that they need to investigate and resolve this ASAP or they'll be losing a lot of face on this one.

For now (now we know about the bug) our workaround will simply be to sen texts to less than 10 people at any one time. Maybe not ideal, but it should rarely affect us. The nasty thing is that it only occurs when you send a lot of messages, and thus when it does happen it's very quickly racking up a lot of charges which are not your fault.
Sony Ericssion (and your network providers) I hope you read this!

Hi,
I got the c905 just over a month ago from dail a phone and on the o2 network.
On new years eve i tried to send a text message to about 40 people and the message turned into a mms.
My real problem came later as when i tried to send the message the phone displayed sending failed retry or cancel, so i kept pressing the retry button until it said message sent.
Then i got a message back from one of my friends saying why had i sent it 15 times to him, it seems that the message didn't go out to everyone in the list the first time so said it had failed but had gone to some and kept going to them every time i pressed retry.
In the end when i checked my account i had sent the message 495 times and now have a bill of £78.44 just because the phone changed it to a mms and didn't send properly.
If anyone gets any joy with sony about this problem i would be grateful if you could let me know.
Thanks.
Lee.

Hi
Iv had the same problem with my C905. I sent out a text message to more than 10 people and then it kept coming up with retry, so I sent it again and it sent as a picture message several times to each of the people.
I got a bill for £80 i rung up the network and they told me the fault code and told me that the shop that sold me the phone will replace it.

Simple.
When you add all the recipients, before sending the message, click options and select "as text msg".
