I am planning on upgrading for the holidays and i was looking into the four phones mentioned in this title
Sanyo katana eclipse X
Samsung Rant
LG Lotus
Samsung M520
i narrowed my choices down to them four.
I am only getting a 75$ credit off the retail price if i go through with this upgrade because I am only a customer of 13 months. Though, i will try to get the price as low as i can.
But the reviews for pretty much ALL phones can always go both ways. They usually have the worst of the worst reviewed with the best of the best. And i cannot draw the line of which negatives i feel arent a big deal because there are just so many opinions and its hard to figure it out myself
So i would like to know with fact (if possible) , not opinion
I need a phone with Very good reception and very good call quality. They are the most important in a cellphone. If they arent good, then i do not want the phone at all.
I want a phone that does not freeze/shut off randomly (which i have read about alot of these phones)
I need camera w/ a camcorder, texting (every phone does that), and i micro card to upload music from my computer onto.
So if anyone could try to narrow down my selection with fact, id really appreciate it.

Honestly , I think the rant is going to be your best choice overall. I used the rant as a demo for about a month in store and as well when i was on vacation to texas.The clarity was great on my phone calls! Didnt drop one call the whole time. The text keyboard makes it easier to mass produce texts the way i like(i suck at t9). The camera is 2.0 and the pictures look really good and dont worry, it has a micro sd card to load up your music.
I've played with the Eclipse and The Lotus but they aren't appealing to me and most of my customer base.
6 out of 10 phones i've sold have been rants over the last 4 days and 20 outta the last 30 in the last 2-3 weeks.
My customer base has spoken. =) hope this helps.
P.S. dont forget you have a 30 day trail if you dont like the phone, go exchange it.

Doesnt the rant like turn off or screen goes blank? just what i have read from alot of reviews
Since i'm partial to sanyo, i'd go with the eclipse. sanyo has not put out a bad phone to date. and even though usually i don't base my phone selection on looks, the lotus looks like a garage door opener. lol. i haven't been able to play with the other phones yet, but if i do, i'll be sure to let you know.
