I am do for an upgrade in Jan and can not decide what the best phone will be for emailing. Was thinking Blackberry but the 29.99 extra per month is a neg. Was looking for the best non blackberry for email.
Unless blackberry is the way to go let me know what is the best way.
thanks ahead of time.
The touch pro has a full qwerty keyboard and supports mini sd of at least 16 gigs, which is the highest available. what do you mean weakness in memory? get your facts straight. also with sprint, only a basic data plan of 15 a month is needed for the touch pro.

Weakness in the application memory. The phone comes with 58% of it's memory already in use, by default. It may have expandable memory for storage, but that isn't the mem I was mentioning. Read the review at phonearena.com, it details the VZW version of this phone. The Sprint version comes with only 32% of it's memory taken to start off. Thanks for the advice, I really needed to straighten my facts
It has 4 gigs on board memory which at about half that leaves a little under 2 gigs memory just for apps. every thing else can be stored on the sd. how much memory do you need? The Average mobile application is approx 500 KiloBytes. Let's Double That just for fun. so 1 megabyte per app. there are 1000 megabytes in one gigabyte. so that leaves you room for over 2000 LARGE SIZED mobile applications. so weak in memory? i think not.

Right, maybe it isn't weak. But it does exhibit weaknesses that aren't found in other smartphones. Especially the VZW version.
Such As? HTC has proven themselves time and time again in the smartphone market. samsung, has not. i firmly believe the touch pro is the best phone on the american market right now.

Well, your beliefs must be correct then. The "such-as" I was referring to was well said in the review at phonearena.com:
"The major difference though is system memory. All other versions have shipped with 288MB of RAM and 512MB ROM, but inexplicably Verizon has stripped it down to 192/512MB. ISM (Intimate Shared Memory) - which lets the device use RAM more efficiently- has doubled to 64MB, but that doesn’t compensate for total loss of memory which is sorely felt. Verizon’s Pro is sluggish, and we found ourselves waiting to do just about anything. After startup the VZW Pro had 58% of its memory in use, compared with 32% from the Sprint Pro. There is an apparent memory leak as well, as we commonly found our Pro in the 60s a while after startup and even saw it as high as 77% with only ActiveSync (which automatically pops up,) if anything, running. Memory leaks are nothing new for Windows Mobile, but that is fairly severe especially when you’re dealing with less memory in the first place. The Pro supports microSD expansion, but Verizon does not include the 1GB memory card that Sprint does."
And that doesn't make the phone a bad device, but it makes me believe there are better devices available.
