I just bought a Blackberry 8100 that was normally on the AT&T network and was wondering how I would go about converting it over to the T-Mobile network. Would I have to take it in to a T-mobile store or am I now screwed out of picture messaging and all the other T-Mobile features

you need to have it unlocked first. then you need to add the t-mobile data settings. Im not sure what the blackberry gateway is. Customer care can help get it set up for you but the ppl in a store will not be able to.

You'll certainly need to ensure that the phone is unlocked.
As for setting up the T-Mobile stuff, you should be able to resend service books to the phone. To do that, log into your T-Mobile Blackberry account (assuming BIS & not an enterprise setup) and find the link marked "Service Books". On the page that comes up, there should be a link that says "Send Service Books".
From there you're all set. All of the features (SMS, MMS, internet, e-mail, et cetera) will work.
If you're wondering about the splash screen that comes up when you start the Blackberry, the sad answer is that it is coded into the hardware and can not be changed.
Best of luck & let us know how it goes.

Well sadly I do have an enterprise setup and I would assume that this is why whenever I try to login to T-Mobiles email I get an error message. Is there any way to change over to the BIS

Rassidan,
Do you mean that the phone is set up for an enterprise (BES) and you'd like to change it to BIS or are you saying that you use the phone within an enterprise environment?
If you are working in an enterprise environment with BES and the phone is your own, I would recommend going to the IT department and seeing if they can help you remove their policies. Too boot, they should be able to get your phone set up for the carrier's settings (SMS, MMS, internet)

My phone is able to set up the enterprise network but since I don't use that feature it is useless to me. And anything on the BIS is not even on the phone.

Rassidan,
The good news is that the phone just needs to be unlocked. After that, you need to be set up with a Blackberry data plan with T-mobile. Finally, you will need to have the T-Mobile service books set up for your phone.
